How difficult is it considering taxes, transport Etc. to move it to U.S.?

You need to consummate the purchase in US waters, or you will be subject to BC taxes.. It is a pretty easy deal.. I bought a Canadian built boat and seller brought it to Friday Harbor where we finalized the purchase. There was an import fee at Customs but it wasn’t much. That was a $175k purchase. Most Canadian brokers are familiar with the process.

I helped a friend bring a boat from Canada that he bought used, back into the USA. It's' a bunch of paperwork. But the fee's aren't bad because the boat was made in the USA.

Ranger Tug R27-OB, built in the USA, originally sold to a Canadian customer. So the boat was imported into Canada and flagged as Canadian. The previous owner had to de-register the boat with Canada (kind of like being USCG Documented in the USA. Canada is similar). Then we brought the boat over the border back to the USA. Stopped in Anacortes for customs to re-flag the vessel as USA. That inspection took about 2 hours on the dock. The new owner had all the paperwork lined up, as he'd visited customs in Anacortes weeks before to review the paperwork and they told him what al he needed to do.

This is the video of us helping him import his new/used boat.

We have purchased both our former R-25 Classic and current C-28 diesel from Canada. And sold the R-25 Classic to a Canadian buyer.
It’s a PITA but doable. If you are doing all cash it’s a bit easier. If using a bank I strongly recommend a title company and import broker. The bank will probably require a title company. If bank involved you will probably need to have the boat USCG Documented.
Our import brokers have been great. Getting an honest exchange rate from the Canadian bank or broker is something you really need to watch. Broker was about $900
Inspections of paperwork & boat at Friday Harbor both times was under 30 minutes. With Customs really about the paperwork being in order, not the boat so much.
I swore the last time I wouldn’t buy Canadian again. But given the current exchange rates I understand why it’s attractive for the right boat.
