My R27 with Yanmar 180 is due for the 50 hour service (along with the maze generator)
I am in Ft. Pierce, Florida. Can anyone recommend a dependable, experienced mechanic to preform the service work?

Thank you

hey Tug Nuts,
If you find a mechanic let me know. I am in Stuart and I'm coming up on 50 hours myself. If you come down the "Ditch" I am on the Northside of the Stuart Causeway. Hope to see you on the water. Was out all weekend and I did spot a small tug that was home made down near Hobe Sound, I'd send a picture but I don't know how yet.

I highly recommend Marine Pro in Cocoa Beach. They are a Yanmar Warranty center and have worked on other Ranger Tugs, including mine today. Call Frank to set up the appointment and plan about 2 weeks before they can show as they are very busy. Colin was at my boat today. Very professional and knowledgeable. Was very willing to explain things to me and make suggestions. Extremely conscious of any lubricant drips in the engine room and wiped everything down frequently and at completion of work. Wiped engine down as well. They may not be the cheapest but having used other 'mechanics", I found them to be worth it. Marc and Brett are the other techs and they are equally professional. Your other choice would be Mastry Engine Center in Tampa area. They are equally professional and knowledgeable. They have techs around the state. If you use them ask for Bob Galloway. Mastry is a yanmar warranty repair station as well. They are also very busy and have about a two week window as well.

Here are the numbers

Bob Galloway 904.545.9975 cell

If you need parts for engine call Frank at Marine Pro. They have a very well stocked parts department.
