Subject: Memorial Day fun on a 47' USCG Motor Lifeboat

My grandson Dominic wanted to do some boating today so we did so.

We charged the batteries on the 47' USCG Motor Lifeboat and off we went...

The speeding Lifeboat scared away all the geese and ducks who then sat to the side pondering on what to make of this speeding thing that whirred and sped along in circles. Other kids were simply awed with it, yelling out... "Woweee.... It's a Coast Guard Lifeboat... cool..."

For those whom maybe interested ... That's the museum of History and Industry & Center for wooden boats behind the pond on south end of Lake Union, Seattle.

I constructed/built this scale model of the 47' USCG Motor Lifeboat two winters ago for my Grandson. It has twin props and an electronic speed control and gets on plan very quickly and goes like the clappers (Re: RAF Slang). 😱

A good day was had for sure. 😀

Hmmmm.... now I must contemplate building a scale model of the Ranger Tugs new 2018 R-27.. (ha ha).

Come on, face it. We are all still kids, only now we have the money to climb into the boat and drive it ourselves, rather than relying on remote control. Come to think of it, there is a boat-load of remote control in my tug. I am just a kid with bigger toys and remote control.

Most of us would give a body part to drive a real version of that boat.
