An idiot who was teaching someone how to drive my boat -- no, not me; I'm a different idiot -- decided that having the dinghy's painter tucked inside the dinghy wasn't as safe as tying it to the Olssen davit. Of course it came loose and got into the prop. The boat had to be towed back to base. A diver went down to clear the fouled line and reported that the paint had been stripped from the prop shaft area but otherwise, there was no damage.
The boat comes out of the water in the winter and I planned to touch up this painted area. But before I do, I want to make sure I don't need to prep it beyond possibly sanding it and wiping it down with some rubbing alcohol to clean off anything that might prevent the paint from sticking.
Photos show a closeup of the problem area -- possibly with red primer? -- and the kind of paint I'd planned to use. Do I need to know anything special to get this done right?
