Keep my r23 on a lift .each time put boat in and out must open or close thru hull valves for head and a/c .otherwise must prime system if it drains. Looking at 3/4 “ us solid stainless steel 12v valve to avoid going into the bilge to manually open and close each time.looking for input thanks

Southriver, You should be able to order on line. Amazon has them listed between $25 and $50 depending on brass or stainless. If plumbed in between hull valve and equipment should work!
You will have to decide on normally open or normally closed, I would think normally closed so not using power when on the lift. You may also want a indicator light by the switch to show position of valve.
Good luck on t h e modification and please post pictures when completed. Bob

Don't use brass, use bronze, if you can get it. This is the preferred material for marine use. If bronze is not available then the stainless. I assume you will be installing it and it will be isolated from the other fittings, but it should still be bonded. In my opinion, I like to keep things simple. Seems like a maintenance issue down the pike. Additionally opening up the hatch and seeing things in the bilge before leaving is a good check.

Normally closed would worry me if there wasn't a way to override the solenoid. If it fails you're a sitting duck.

Another option would be a reach rod. Available at any hardware store. Bob

I was always taught to operate the seacocks frequently. When leaving the boat for more than a day I would close the seacocks and opening them was the first thing on my checklist upon returning to the boat. As previously posted, it is also a good time to take a peek at the bilge to be sure things are ship shape. (No, I didn't check the oil every day, however.)

Keeping the seacocks free and moving is a very important thing. When you suddenly need to close one it is good to know it will operate.
