we have a lovely 8 ft eastport pram rowboat hard dinghy weight 65 # and Nova Forespar folding davits for it. we are looking at R 27 s to 31 s. Is there a mounting place for the Forespar davits on the rear transom or swim platform of a R 27 to 31 ? does there need to be reinforcement of the davit mounting area ?

we 'd generally carry the dinghy lashed down in the in the cockpit for travel on the water , and only keep it in foldable davits in port.

thanks, as usual for your excellent advice ( and the nice ranger tug hat...)

most people use weaver davits that allow the boat to be mounted upright not hung like sailboat davits. this way the davit and dinghy dont take space from the swim step

Just a heads up on the Weaver Davits. The ones you need are special design for Ranger Tugs. They are 4" up and 4" back design. This is to allow clearance of the fenders mounted on the rear of the swim deck.

the hard shell dinghy design of the eastport pram cannot bear all its weight during travel on its rear transom or side transom. so the weaver davit that one would use for inflatables or avon style dinghies will not work. i should have been more specific in that we intend to use our eastport pram as our only dinghy. we want to mount it on the tug's rear transom or swim platform, using the nova Forespar davits we own.

so i'm copying this request for info to the factory..
