We are moving to Nova Scotia and am interested if there are any Ranger tug owners there and if so where?

From what I gather, I think my wife and I might be the most eastern Canadian Tug owners. But me mum is from NS; so perhaps that helps.
Cheers,
Gregg

Thanks for the feedback Gregg. I am wondering if I should be looking for a future purchase of an R27 in the upper North East states somewhere. Maybe go down and truck it back to Halifax. But then it might be just as close to buy in the Toronto area and truck it from there. I have a 3/4 ton diesel crew cab that should handle it.
Cheers,
Barry

I'm sure that truck can handle towing the Bluenose. You may have to look in NY for a boat, though. I'm not sure if there is/are dealers in Ontario. The fellow I purchased our 21ec with is not carrying Ranger at this time. Call Jeff at the factory, I'm sure he'll be able to set you up with someone close to you. Congrats on the move to NS; great place, great people. Never anything but the best times when there.

Peter Haywood at the Winter Island Yacht Yard in Salem, MA is great to work with. I purchased the first R-27 on the East Coast from him. What a great return cruise that would be, up along the New England coastline!

Your 3/4 ton diesel will have no problem towing a 27. I tow a 29 all over with a 3/4 ton Dodge turbo diesel and it is as easy as pie. With trailer and boat I am towing about 13,500lbs. Float-on trailers are the best and are the lightest. The float-on's also have great breaks.
Good luck with your new boat when you get her!

Mr. Styles,
My wife and I are soon-to-be owners of a 27 (delivery November) on the other side of the country. Everything I've seen about this boat I like - and that from a "recovering sailor." That includes a very helpful team at Ranger and a sales team out of Port Alberni. Good luck on the East Coast. Safe Travels.

There are at least a couple of new dealers in Ontario that could help you with your boat. Both are in SW Ontario. The best deals are to be had in the U.S. though as the recession has not hit Ontario yet.

Spent a month in Nova Scotia during June and July. Had wanted to do the trip by motorcycle for years. Finally, got up one one morning and told the wife "we need to go". Went the following week, by car, well ,actually a LandCruiser. Great trip, beautiful country and really, really nice people. Want to go back, maybe next summer.

Hi RET,
Who are the dealers in SW Ontario you are referring to? If there is someone new for Ranger issues, that would be great!
thanks,
Gregg

After asking Ranger Tug about Ontario dealers I learnt of two new dealers:

1. Ryan Stovold @ Lefroy Harbour Resorts Inc. (705)456-2120 ext 23 [he e mailed me]
2. Bridge Yachts Ltd. - Port Dover, Ontario Toll-free 877-571-4891 [I met a rep at the Port Credit Boat show]

I was told there might be a third dealer eventually.

Good luck,

RET
