I own a r29 2012 Ranger Tug and just replaced my batteries that came from factory with Optima blue top marine agm group 31. Do I need to change anything in the inverter / charger? I noticed it's set for AGM 1. I'm plugged into shore power and noticed bank 1 was down the 10v. Battery bank 1 only shows 10v and doesn't seem to be taking a charge with shore power nor if the boat is running

Also, in changing my batteries out my fridge stopped working and I can't find a fuse or breaker for the fridge. Where is it located?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Tom

Hello Tom,

The boat definitely didn't come from the factory with Optima batteries so most likely something the previous owner changed around. Don't think the setting of the charger would have anything to do with them charging but it does matter on how it will charge the batteries. Would need a volt meter to start checking around to see what you have going on. Might want to double check all of your wire connections as maybe you missed one when changing the batteries out.

Regarding the fridge, pretty sure that model year has its own D.C. Breaker at the panel. If it stopped working, I would get in touch with Nova Kool to do some troubleshooting.

Thank you,

Thank you Andrew. I believe the source of all my issues the bank 1 being at 9 v now

How do I identify battery bank 1? The first two batteries closest to the charger next to each other?

Don't understand how to add images to post.

Okay, the first rule of thumb is what did I do just before this happened? Answer, you changed your batteries! Your refrigerator probably stopped running because your battery voltage went too low. It is made to stop when there is low voltage. I would say you need to check your rewiring of the batteries to make sure you put everything back the way it was. Perhaps when you were replacing the batteries you blew a fuse?? I bet if you search you will find that it is something that happened on the install.
Also AGM is AGM so just changing brands will not require changing your charger setting.
