As a result of being hit in the swim platform by another boat while I was at anchor, I need to rebuild our swim platform railing and gate. The factory has no drawings on the railings. Has anyone every had to recreate the railings or had some built from scratch? I have the old mangled railings and the boatyard will re-create as much as possible from pictures and such. But if someone has already done the research, I would sure like to take advantage of it. If no one has info on drawings, can I get a height measurement from the platform to the top of the railing? And if possible a radius of the curve for the stanchion that is pictured below. I also included a picture of the damaged railing. Thanks much.

You might want to take the opportunity to make it a little more customized for you. Was the original just the right height? Would you want it a little different because of the dinghy handling? Higher on the ends and lower in the middle of each side and leave out the center post for ease of access to dinghy?? Just a thought.

If you are not looking to customize your new rails and are looking for OEM, you may want to check with this source. Some of the Ranger rails came from Bolton Stainless in Canada.....250-545-6226.

Thanks Catch22. I'll give them a call.

Yeah, why not order either from Ranger or their manufacturer. Seems like an easier route than trying to repair the old one.

Richard at RT told me that they didn't have any. So I'm talking to Bolton SS now who makes the railings.

Although RT may not stock this item (2011 R29), unless the vendor who made the original railings is out of business, I suspect they have the original fabrication drawings to easily fabricate new ones.
