Subject: New 2018 R-27/OB delivery this Wed/Thur
We will be having our new 2018 R-27/OB delivered to our marina on Wed this week.
On Wed all the various boat's systems will be discussed and for me to train and be knowledgeable using them. This will be done at dock-side.
On Thur all the boat's operational aspects will be covered and for me to learn all about them. This will be done at dock and on the water.
After our maiden voyage I will post back what I've learned and experienced.
There's one thing I'd like to mention now.... When the boat is delivered typically RT will stop along the way to the marina at a local gas station and fill the fuel tank. They prepare the tank with an approved Yamaha fuel additive in case E-10/E-15 happens to be put into the tank. E-10/E-15 is not recommended by Yamaha. I discussed this aspect and requested they not pre-fill the fuel tank in this way. My request was for RT to fill the fuel tank at my marina's fuel dock at time of delivery. My marina provides only non-ethanol blended gasoline. This not only ensures my fuel is non-ethanol but the boat will weigh less for the lift which is rated for a max of 10,000 lbs. If the boat is in anyway close to 10,000 lbs the marina will refuse to lift the boat into the water and will want us to use the much more expensive travel lift to be used which has a much higher load limit. The dry weight of the R-27 is around 7000 lbs so with full fuel tank, Webasto fuel tank and water tank being full along with other gear that RT stows onboard for new purchase the 10,000 lbs could easily be approached IMO.
