Subject: New 2018 R-27/OB delivery this Wed/Thur

We will be having our new 2018 R-27/OB delivered to our marina on Wed this week.

On Wed all the various boat's systems will be discussed and for me to train and be knowledgeable using them. This will be done at dock-side.

On Thur all the boat's operational aspects will be covered and for me to learn all about them. This will be done at dock and on the water.

After our maiden voyage I will post back what I've learned and experienced.

There's one thing I'd like to mention now.... When the boat is delivered typically RT will stop along the way to the marina at a local gas station and fill the fuel tank. They prepare the tank with an approved Yamaha fuel additive in case E-10/E-15 happens to be put into the tank. E-10/E-15 is not recommended by Yamaha. I discussed this aspect and requested they not pre-fill the fuel tank in this way. My request was for RT to fill the fuel tank at my marina's fuel dock at time of delivery. My marina provides only non-ethanol blended gasoline. This not only ensures my fuel is non-ethanol but the boat will weigh less for the lift which is rated for a max of 10,000 lbs. If the boat is in anyway close to 10,000 lbs the marina will refuse to lift the boat into the water and will want us to use the much more expensive travel lift to be used which has a much higher load limit. The dry weight of the R-27 is around 7000 lbs so with full fuel tank, Webasto fuel tank and water tank being full along with other gear that RT stows onboard for new purchase the 10,000 lbs could easily be approached IMO.

Good luck on your new R27 delivery Barry. Lisa and I are right behind you with our R29 Monday and Tuesday of next week.....exciting days for sure.

OMG.... have just completed my Check List for tomorrows systems training and arrived at a total of 80 items. I just starting listing things I want to ensure get covered and when finished I had this huge list. I will not reveal the list to the RT person at the start of tomorrows training, but will refer to it toward the end of the day to make sure the items have been covered.

I have a GoPro HERO 5 and will lay this down in the cabin and move it around at times to primarily capture audio as well as video when necessary. It's just to easy to miss what's said when really focusing on an explanation and note taking is to bothersome I find as it detracts from really listening to what's being explained/said etc. The GoPro battery is fully charged and I have an empty 128GB card installed in the camera. 😀 If the battery runs down I'll have my iPhone at the ready... 😉

What have others done to ensure items of personal interest are covered during the systems training ?

Don't forget the bilge plug and insurance.
Enjoy

The day has arrived.... 😀

I have my GoPro at the ready.... 128GB memory card, full battery charge and a 2nd 128GB memory card if required. I've lowered the video quality to conserve storage space but my primary requirement is to capture audio. 🙂

Ironically, or maybe fortunate.... my Amazon delivery for a second GoPro battery will be delivered today.... good timing. 😱

The boat has several USB charging ports so I can re-charge the one battery I have as needed. 🙂

Now off to the marina, grab some coffee and wait for the call from RT saying the boat is on its way to my marina.

It's going to be a fun day training/learning.

I was at RT yesterday and went through your boat...envious as heck because mine won't be available until next May.

Look forward to seeing/reading your report, and to seeing you on the water and at the dock in Roche Harbor.
