New autopilot?

I am setting up my recently acquired 2014 R21EC for fresh water fishing on inland lakes in northern Ontario, ant there seems to be a myriad of possible GPS autopilot controllers on the market. I need it to talk to an Apex Humminbird fish finder so i can follow bottom contours and set up trolling patterns. Rudder feedback or not? Simrad, Raymarine, Humminbird, something else? I have purchased the octopus intellisteer and have yet to install the unit. Uncharted waters for me, so any advice will be appreciated greatly.
