New C-24 VHF no GPS?

FINALLY received my state registration so got my MMSI set up. My VHF is not recognizing my GPS location so I get a warning every 10 minutes? Is there a way to set up GPS on this unit? Thx, Skip

Make sure the Garmin chart plotter is on to receive GPS location. Make sure your VHF is connected to the N2K backbone. The VHF does not have built in GPS receiver.

Thx Brian...the gps on the Garmin 1242xsv is on. I suspect that it is not connected to the vhf. Service tells me it cones connected from the factory but I have never seen any gps readings on it. I do see a couple of cut wires hanging below it. I’ll let you know what I find out.

Figured it out and I was the one that caused the problem. When I upgraded to the Garmin 1242 I failed to reconfigure the settings for this on the VHF. All is well!
