Wondering if anyone has dealt with the new CDC rules for bringing you dog back into the states after travel to Canada.
I'm about to submit the CDC Dog Import Form and have a rabies cert and microchip number. Just wondering how it went if you've blazed the trail before me!

I had it all, and when I came back, I used the CBP roam app, and they didn't even ask me about my dog. waste of time. lol

We came back into the US having visited the Canadian Gulf Islands with our dog last week and I was asked if we had submitted the CDC pet form, which we had. We had no issues and the officer we spoke to the through CBP Roam app was the nicest boarder agent I've ever spoken to.

We came back into the US from the Broughtons on August 15 Using ROAM. They asked for the CDC Dog Import form. Didn’t need to see it. We had jumped thru hoops to get the Certification of US Rabies vaccination in June but was unnecessary.

Was this after August 1? I had the same experience, but I purposely returned before then, in late July. I’m curious because I’m planning to take another trip to Canada and back in late September. My canine crew is always with me.

Thanks everyone for the reports. We will be crossing soon and these experiences match what we've heard from others. Glad that CDC and CBP made this easier!

Seems like it's turning out to be a lot easier than what we all were expecting from initial expectations. Good news!

It was 8/15.

Good to know. Thanks.

I was on the Great Loop earlier this summer and basically everybody in Canada traveling with a dog was freaking out about the new rule. There were some vets in New York who were taking advantage of the situation and charging $500 a dog to get all the required paperwork done. I’m glad they changed the requirements.
