Placed my order for a New 2017 CW 28 on 9/30/16. It has only taken me 5 years or so to make up my mind on my Dream Retirement boat! Will be Trailering it Mostly to the Great Lakes and up to PNW. Already have a Dodge Diesel Dulley , so should be more than adequate for the Job.

Visited the Monroe plant a few weeks ago and watched the construction process. Very impressive.

I know I have seen the performance specs published somewhere for the CW 28 but can't put my hands on them. If someone has them , please post on a reply.

Looking forward to seeing some of you at the next rendezvous!

Brought the new CW 28 home to Arizona last Sunday. 1,600 mile drive from Monroe, WA.! Weather held up OK....Cold but no snow.
Question...........Anyone in the Phoenix area own a Tug or CW.? Thinking ahead now for a service mechanic for future maintenance.

Thanks,
Bill T.

Congratulations Bill T on your new C28. I can not help you on the specs as we are R27 owners however when you come to the Great Lakes and if your are near Traverse City or Charlevoix Michigan make sure to touch base with us.

Jim.....Thanks for the invite. We are planning to focus next summer's exploration in Lakes Michigan and Superior. Will probably set up a home base in Manitowoc or Sturgeon bay WI.
Wife and I did some early cruising in Lk. Michigan and Superior with our first small cabin boat back in the seventies, so really looking forward to the experience again. In those days only had a short vacation to cruise. This time will hopefully be much longer. My family had a cottage on Catawba Island in western basin of Lake Eire when I was a kid....so grew up around the water.

I have followed many of your travels on Tugnuts over the years. We will be doing very similar trips as yours with the new CW 28 for the next few years, health permitting. Living in AZ for the last 30 years or so , Lake Powell has been our frequent cruising grounds.

Happy Holidays,

Bill T

Bill,
Your experience is similar to mine. We have a 2016 CW28. These boats are fun beyond words. We are still learning the boat and have logged some information but have not analyzed it yet. Hopefully, I will get time soon or maybe I will just head to the water when the snow stops and figure it out as I go. That said, you can go to cutwater.com and go to Articles/Links then look at New Wave an article from Passage Maker. It has some specs on page 7. However it is for the Yanmar engine, but I think it is similar to the Volvo. If I find more specs or analyze my own, I will let you know. We cruised the PNW last summer and will do again this June and July.
Please feel free to contact me if you would like to discuss more in detail.

Would be great to hook up on the phone. We had the boat out on the water in Everett for two days for Cutwater Factory orientation a few weeks back. Currently doing some custom items in the boat to make it more livable for extended cruising. We have it at our home in Gold Canyon , AZ, so its convenient to work on.

Here's my phone # 480 244 6496.

Thanks,

Bill T.
