My partner and I are in the process of acquiring a gently used 2016 Cutwater C-30CB from a guy up in Anacortes, WA. Assuming survey and sea trial go well (not concerned), she'll come home to Portage Bay / Seattle Yacht Club in a few weeks! We are super excited as this is a major upgrade from our "learner boat" for the last few years which was a 1997 Larson Cabrio 290!

I have so many questions and don't even know where to start! I will begin with looking through the forums, but if anyone has any "must do's" for the boat as far as upgrades or projects or any advice / guidance / gotchas, we'd really appreciate it. Thankfully some important items like the bridge enclosure are already done, so we can start using the boat immediately (with gloves on)!

So far I've identified the following possible projects (in no particular order of time or priority):

-Bedding etc. from YachtWorld.com
-upgrade solar system?
-add additional thruster battery and parallel switch?
-what about storage? How do y'all store plates, silverware, etc?

I'm sure we will have a zillion more questions and can't wait to engage with this group and hopefully meet some of y'all in person soon!

When we first got out boat, I was in the same boat (pun intended). I had to restrain myself somewhat to use the boat some to see how we actually used it, what we liked, what we wanted to modify, etc. Things I thought I would want turned out not to be as big of a deal, and vice versa. That being said, a ~year in I just added on the Raptor decking and have a mattress on order... Installing a battery monitor (BMV-712) was a nice upgrade as well.

Good advice. I tend to be bad about restraint and just want to get it done. Type A tech worker. 🙂 I'll have a beer and relax a while and re-assess.
