Being on a river with many bridges and a covered storage, i found the factory mast to be too high. Didn’t want to climb out every time to food. Made a shorter version and eliminated the extra empty platform. Now I am below 10’ and don’t have to worry about most height restrictions or ask for bridge openings. Designed the platforms in fusion 360 and had them laser cutout of stainless. Made a custom hinge, added two tubes and had it welded as seen.
Will add a loudhailer under the tv antenna later and connect to the vhf200. While I don’t go out in fog and in my area there is little it’s just fun to build up functionality. Will experiment with flood lights on the side lobes of the platform.
