I have purchased a new (larger) anchor for my 2019 C30. It is a:

33lb. Rochna Galvanized Fixed Shank Scoop Anchor
Model # 9261645

Is installing the Rochna anchor as simple is disconnecting the original Cutwater installed anchor with my new Rochna anchor? Are any special fittings, brackets, or tools required? It looks significantly bigger, but I have believe I have read where others have made this substitution.

Thanks.

On our 2019 C30 a Rocna 15 fit with no alterations or special parts needed. So unless Rocna has changed the geometry on the anchor, or something was done differently on your roller, it should work.

You're right, it is larger, but was no problem. It also has worked superbly for us here in the PNW.

Thanks, I was planning in using the same chain with the new larger anchor, did your windless have any problems recovering the anchor?

I just did the same on my 2016 C-30 CB. It was a very easy swap. let the anchor and some chain out, enough to grab the existing anchor with a boat hook, and pull it up on the dock, with plenty of slack so you have room to work without it falling back in the water. I also added the Mantus swivel (https://www.fisheriessupply.com/mantus- ... -stainless), which really helps with rotation and proper setting / retrieval. It was a 30 min job to change everything, including the swivel. When you're done, carefully lower the anchor into the water, and then retrieve it with your windlass.

Great advice! was going to say the same thing!

Thanks, and have the swivel on order!

Is a locking wiring a requirement with the swivel?

It comes with both locking wire and a locking pin, so you have choices!

Great suggestion, I hadn’t seen one so well engineered. What size did you get?

The chain on my boat is 1/4”, so got that one. I don’t know that any of our boats would have chain larger than that, but you should check your boat to confirm.

At least some boats have 5/16" chain -- our 2019 C30 does from the factory/dealer, and several threads mention that for some RTs and other CW years, too.

Mine might have that as well. The swivel I got works for both so it was fine.

I just installed a new Rocna 15 on our new C30. When I was close up to both anchors I became very nervous that the Rocna wouldn’t fit. I had read that the new Rocna anchors are slightly different dimensions, and it is so much bigger than the toy claw that comes with the C30. BUT, I was gladly wrong and the anchor fits beautifully!! I also installed a Mantus S1 swivel. There is just under 2” of length to spare before the windless. Very easy and quick install!

Glad it worked out for you , Rob.

We're installing the same Rocna/Mantus configuration on our R29S. We have a May +/- delivery date.

Has any other R29 owner installed the new Rocna 15 anchor on your boat? Were there any complications?

We just installed the ronca15 and a mantus swivel on 2019 r29cb. Simple swap. Zero complications. And the Bruce now serves as a good backup that we keep in the port side bow locker (we also dropped those thick interlocking mesh rubber mats squares from west marine on bottom of all the Anchor (and cockpit) lockers.)

We just installed a Rocna 15 on our 2016 R29s. It fit with no problems with about 2" clearance between the tip of the anchor and the bow plate.
Not sure how relevant that is to the newer models though.
