Please let me know what the starter battery is in my 2017 Ranger 29S. It's time to replace it.
Thanks,

the fastest way is probably to look at it! 🙂 They are usually universal battery group (UBG) batteries. I would be recommending something more robust - those weren't my favorite. The Optima Blue Top Group 31 starting battery is a better choice IMO!

It may be prudent to replace all the batteries at the same time. It has to do with dissimmilar plates within different batteries (age) even from the same manufacturer. Battery experts even go on the say that only install batteries from the same manufactured lot. There is a lot of information here on TugNuts from older posts that go into greater detail.

Last summer I replaced all six batteries in our 2021 R29S with West Marine Group 31 Dual Purpose AGM Batteries, 105 Amp Hours. Engine started easier, thrusters worked better, and house bank performed better.
Cold cranking amps = 800; marine cranking amps = 1000
West Marine Part # 15020258, Mfg # WM8A31DTM
Made in US by East Penn

+1 for the Optimax Blue Top
