My wife and I just purchased a Ranger Tugs R29 and so have no experience with the boat yet. We owned and operated a 25 foot Edgewater 245C for 8 years on the Chesapeake. We were involved with cruising fleets in the Chesapeake and took numerous boating courses. We moved up to the R29 because we wanted to enjoy more of the overnight cruising lifestyle vice a day on the bay. We would like to cruise from Annapolis MD up to New England (Newport, Cuttyhunk, Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket) this summer after spending a couple of months in the Chesapeake getting to know and provision our boat.
We are curious if anyone has experience operating an R29 off the New Jersey shore, in Long Island Sound and in Nantucket Sound? Is it realistic for us to consider taking the boat to these locations?
