I may be getting ahead of myself here, but my wife and I are looking at purchasing a used 2008 R-21 EC. So without having the boat yet, I decided to sign up on Tugnuts. 😀 We should take possesion of the "Lady T" in a couple of weeks. Anyone out there near Alexandria, VA area. We would like to meet fellow "tugnuts" in the area and I have a couple of questions regarding boating in this area as well. I was very happy to find this site and have enjoyed reading the stories and can't wait to get the Lady T out on the water so we can share our stories/photos as well.

This past weekend we did a seatrial, and all looks well to continue with the purchase.

Oops, I forgot to add a signature...such a rookie!!!

Congratulations!!

Let us know when she is all yours.

Welcome aboard. I am sure you will love your little tug as much as we do.

We live in Hollywood, MD, about 60 miles south of you. We mostly putter around the Southern Maryland area. Although, I cruised to Annapolis and back for a three day weekend last week. Anchored out and had a great time. I have been wanting to cruise up the Potomac for a long time. We finally have a boat that can go the distance. Maybe we can meet up there, have lunch, cruise around, etc.

You can also bring your boat down here (trailer or cruise). The fishing is great. You can get a Maryland fishing license for your boat that will cover everyone on the boat for $50.00 for residents and nonresidents (it is a good deal). It will cover you in Maryland waters on the Potomac and the Bay. Virginia does not own any of the rivers that are shared with other states/DC.

Be prepared though. Your R21 is a looker. Someone will always want to stop you and talk about your boat. I have had cars chase me down or follow me until I stop. I even had a golf cart follow me to the boat ramp the other day. Someone always wants to help launch or recover your boat so they can take a look. It gets comical sometimes.

Looking forward to meeting you.
