Our tires are 4 years old and are the stock tires on the factory trailer that came with our boat. We think we should replace them. I also want to upgrade to the best tires available as I feel the tandem setup is barely adequate . Any suggestions as to brand or type?

Brian,
what type of trailer do you have? I have a 27 and need to get a used one.
thanks, John

I agree a tandem trailer is barely adequate, I took my R25 from a tandem to a triple axle and it was an improvement in every aspect of trailering; towing, braking, launching, peace of mind, safety, everything.

Now carrying a R29 on the same triple axle trailer.

Heartily recommend going to a triple axle.

Tandem axle, made by Hi-Tech Marine in FL

Just replaced a tire with Goodyear Endurance. Made in USA and seems to be good quality.

I put Maxxis tires (made in Thailand) on two different tandem-axle trailers and have been pleased with them.

Have towed my R-27 boat on a Float-on tandem for over 30,000 miles. Currently have Maxxis tires, which had good reviews. Waiting to see how others do with the Goodyear Endurance when I need replacements. So far happy with the Maxxis. Tandem V tri-axle? If you don't need three axle's don't get it. You will have another two wheels to service and just increased your blowout odds by two tires.
