Where is the backbone on 2016 RT 29CB?

On my 2018 R29S, it is effectively under the throttle lever area. Accessed from the cave by removing the fwd bulkhead.

I hope that helps.

The CB and Sedan models would have the backbone in the same location.

I wonder if this is still the case for 2022 boats. I am planning on extending mine.

On our 2021 R29S the electronics team that installed our rudder indicator accessed the NMEA backbone by removing the upper panel along the Starboard hull side in the mid-cabin, also known as the cave. Boat is covered in winter storage right now, but if I recall correctly, that panel is covered with the white fabric and has one or two small recessed lights mounted to it. Removal of a few screws and the panel can be pulled down.

Thanks a bunch. I am planning to also install a rudder indicator in addition to other NMEA 2000 devices. I hope there is enough space for the expansion. Exciting stuff.
