NO AC1

So while underway or at anchor NO AC1 circuit panels are not lighted . While on shore or
Generator all are available and lighted.

What might I want to check?

Without AC power from shore or generator I’m fairly sure you’d need your invertor turned on to generate any AC power.

Yes, inverter is powered up, yet none of the AC breakers come lite . Instant generator or shore power connected and they all lite up.

One more thing on the inverter.....there is a GFCI plug on the side of the unit, if that has tripped it would need to be reset. If it’s not that I’m anxious to hear from others to help solve your problem.

Selector switch to shore power (yes), inverter battery switch on (yes), inverter turned on (yes), Power to the inverter (12V) fuse between inverter battery switch and inverter is ok (yes), Reset inverter over load breaker/GFCI (yes). You should have power to the panel. If all above are yes, and you have 12 Volts going into the inverter but no power 120V coming out to power panel.The battery charger side of combo Charger/inverter is operating I would suspect a transfer switch malfunction.

Ah....my bad. I realized in the winter I changed the inverter programming to “ln0” so that if I lost shore power it wouldn't switch to my batteries and drain them . Changed value to “ln1”, all is well.

Makes sense that locks the transfer switch or disables it. Giving the same symptoms as a failed transfer switch. That was an easy fix.

Now I have to figure our how I have 21.2 volts going into battery1 of the solar controller. The voltmeters in the cave and at the input to the inverter all read normal 12.7v . I had all the batteries changed in the fall. How could they have wired it so everything else appears normal except when I read at the solar controller?

I would check for a mis-wire at the solar controller. If the panel is connected to battery sense it would read the panel voltage instead of the battery voltage. I believe the panel voltage can get that high with no load.

So flip pos and negative going into the solar controller for Battery 1

No, there are three sets of connections on the Sunsaver Duo controller, Battery 1, Solar Panel (labeled with a sun icon), and Battery 2. Perhaps the Panel Is incorrectly connected to the Battery 1 connection. Trace the wires from each of these connections to see if they go to the correct place. If incorrect, then change them to the correct connection.

Yes I had previously disconnected the leads in each of the three pair
Battery 1 21v
Solar. 13.5v
Battery 2 13.4 volt

I will try and trace the wires. The access under the battery storage is awful.

Hi JFrano,

Yes, it looks like your Solar panel and Battery 1 wires are swapped. Swap them back. It is likely that the one that reads 21 volts (when exposed to direct sun) is the solar panel and should go to Solar connection and the one that reads 13.5 volts should go to battery 1 connection. There should be labels on the wires. It still would be best to trace them out to be sure but at this point it’s pretty clear it is miswired.

Put a blanket over the solar panel when you change the connection to block the sun when you make the change. Otherwise you can get a surprising spark!
