No depth reading

I need some help
Last night I was crossing the bay and I looked down and my depth said over 800 ft and our lake is only 30 ft. I turned GPS off and on now there is no depth just the dashes.. I checked all connections re set the unit Dowoaded latest software and reset again and checked all connections again My unit is the 5215 The GSD unit has flashing green light..
Any ideas?

When you said reset the unit, did you disconnect all the leads to the depth sounder? I usually do that and it works.

Yes tried all the easy stuff .. If the sending unit comes loose from the bottom of the boat does it still send a reading? Or could that be it?

I just checked and the sending unit is in fact loose.. Has anyone re glued and what glue and any advice would be a big help

I would use 4200. Clean both surfaces and then set in place. be sure that it is totally immersed in the adhesive. Or to make sure check out Garmin's recommended installation method

Well re gluing the sending unit is a bit easier then the shear pin in the rear thruster.. Had to remove the generator fuel tank clips and then remove the wash down pump so I could spin the tank to get at it, and then it was at least sort of easy to get at. Epoxy applied tested and working..... going to wait until it hardens before rebuilding the back of the boat tomorrow..
Good news is it made me update the software finally, even though that was not the issue it's good to know software is updated.... I hope..have had issues updating my phone before.. hope this is update for Garmin is solid.
