I plugged my shore cable into my Pronautics 12-20 P today and nothing happened. No fan, no status lights, no charge indication of any kind.
The shore cable is good and there's power to the end of it, just nothing happening on the charger itself. I checked for loose or broken wires and corrosion on the plug but everything looked good.
Anybody have an idea?

Hello. The only thing I could do is pull the cover off the end of the charger that would expose the 120 volt wires and physically check for power. If it has power to the charger itself, might have a faulty one.

Please feel free to reach out to me directly at andrewcustis@rangertugs.com and I will be happy to direct you on the next steps if it does indeed need replaced.

Thank you,

Thanks Andrew. I'll be in touch.

Andrew, I pulled the cover and tested the line as you suggested. There's juice going into the box, just nothing from the box itself. Same symptoms as described in my OP.

As a cross check I had an electrician friend do the same test with his meter. Same results. He suggested the box itself was bad internally.

I read the ProNautics user guide and they suggest mounting the box in an area that stays dry. Mine is mounted in the stern compartment and it's subjected to condensation leaks and minor water seepage from the compartment door above it. Would that small amount of water cause the charger to malfunction?

I used to have a Chief Engineer that took care of this kind of stuff but since I retired I'm now the Chief Engineer. Lots to learn.

I assume you've checked for a field replaceable fuse that may be inside the charger, or a push to reset breaker on the outside somewhere. The DC out should be fused at the charger or in the charger.

According to the ProNautics user guide there is nothing inside the box that can be worked on by the user. The electrician that checked my work confirmed this. There are no switches or reset buttons on the unit at all...none that I could find anyway...and none are mentioned in the user's guide.

The lines from the charger are fused and the fuses check out okay.

The unit is on a 2014 R-21 and probably hasn't had a lot of use. If this is the expected life range of a ProNautics product I might be better served by selecting another brand for a replacement.

NOTE...This issue has been resolved very much to my satisfaction by Ranger Tug. Many thanks to Andrew Custis and his staff. Great service.

And the resolution was?
