When repairing the manufacturer’s heavily caulked attempt at adhering the transducer cup to the hull, I made an interesting discovery: the hull under the V-berth holds water. Surprisingly, the area around the midships bilge pump remains remarkably clean, showing no signs of ever having water. The challenge? There’s no direct path for water to flow from the V-berth to the bilge pump—every potential route is heavily fortified by spray foam.

Here’s the situation:

The hull under the V-berth retains water.
The bilge pump area is pristine.
Spray foam obstructs any water movement.

My plan: tunnel through the foam and create a pathway for water to weep toward the pump. Currently, I’m painstakingly using a four-pronged flexible grabber to remove the foam, but progress is slow.

Now, I turn to the boating community for advice. Have you successfully tackled a similar issue? How can I expedite this process and spend more time enjoying my boat? Any creative solutions are welcome.
