Hi all just wanted to pass on that I added some additional sound insulation to my 2019 r29cb that actually worked.. a noticeable reduction in engine noise. This started when I was watching a walkthrough video of the new r43 and noticed that the cockpit lazarette hatches all had sound insulation underneath. My r29 does not. In fact the hatches are hollow. So I bought a kit from soundown and cut and installed (crazy strong epoxy spray came with the kit) 1 inch thick SD under each locker hatch and 2 smaller pieces under the cockpit flooring just forward of the hatches.

I was really not expecting to notice anything as I figured that factory would have installed if they thought it would make a difference. BUT, It actually made a noticeable difference. Pretty straight forward DIY project.

Do you have photos? Can you describe somehow, how much noise reduction? I would think that 3M contact cement would work for adhesive.

Thanks for sharing. I'd also be curious to know if there is noise reduction inside the cabin, or just in the cockpit?

i'll need to take some pictures but it just looks like sound insulation under the hatches and a couple other small areas, same as looks under the engine hatch. Noise reduction is in the cockpit and cabin. Again, not huge - but just noticeable. which was more than I was expecting. Every little bit helps in my opinion. The only issue is that the spay glue that comes with the kit, while incredible, is highly toxic. I wore mask, gloves and eye protection. But is goes on easily and controllably. The fumes are pretty harsh though. But they fade to nothing once dry.

I would also like to see some pictures. We have a 2021 C28 and we find it noisy. Does the kit include anything for the hatch in the galley?
