all of the ranger tugs ...........
It is with great sorrow I am sharing the news that Norb Hattendorf has passed away on April 22nd at his home in Colorado with his family at his side. I had the pleasure of meeting him and spending time with he and Ruth in the past 20 months or so. One of the first to really adventure on his Classic R 25 Tug Two If By Sea , they did the inside passage, and much of the great loop . Many of you have followed their adventures on the Tugnuts and I'm sure he is an inspiration to many . His wry humor and great spirit will be missed . He was 80 years young and will be missed in the Ranger Tugs Family .
His obituary [which, of course, he wrote ] can be found HERE

Marc, Thanks for sharing.

I did not know the gentleman but I read his obituary. Obviously a life well lived!
Blessings to the family

We had the good fortune to meet Norb and Ruth in Kingston, WA back in 2010. Please see the pictures below of their boat and the happy couple. We will miss Norb and our thoughts and prayers are with Ruth and the family.

We had the great privilege to meet them in a parking lot in Wyoming in early September of 2008. They were already following Tugnuts and knew we were heading east to put the Laurie Ann into the Mississippi River and do part of the "Loop". They contacted us via email and we met them one early morning, shared breakfast, and showed them just how wonderful a Ranger Tug could be. They shared stories of their adventures doing the Great Loop with us and we shared all the possibilities for boating in the PNW with them. After that, they continued west and I believe ended up in the PNW, checked out several boats, and decided to buy their Ranger Tug 25, 2 If By Sea. Even though we only met them that once, we've followed their blogs and were inspired by their adventurous spirit. He will be missed by the Ranger community and our thoughts go to his family.
