Northern trip to Upper MI

Im pretty excited. In about ten days Gentle Lady my EC21 and I will be headed for Makinak Island area for a few weeks.
We will be Tugging out of Cedarville MI. Lots of islands etc to see. This will be Gentle Lady's first road trip other than Chesapeake bay trips. Cant wait. 😀

You're going to really like the cruising area you're heading too. If you have the time you'd also enjoy Canada's North Channel, to the east of Cedarville and Mackinaw Island to the south. If your plans bring you to Traverse City, Michigan, about 120 miles south/west please be sure to let us know.

Still seems a little chilly (High 50s Low 30s) to go this early (as I get older I like to get warmed by the sun ;-) I have to agree with Jim that if you get the chance go, to the North Channel. It is an awesome place to cruise and perfect for a Ranger Tug. I very interested in trip reports on your 21EC...are you staying on it by yourself? I was trying to convince my wife to purchase a Ranger Tug 25 or Cutwater 26...but with kids in college (and us footing a large part of the bill...) she has agreed to the 21EC a 'gateway' Tug. I am trying to convince her that there is enough room for two to cruise...such as in the North Cannel or the NY Canal System. Have a safe trip and let us know how it goes!

Thanks all. Last year at this time I sailed my sailboat off Drummond Island. Sailed around the North Channel area except it was not the North Channel people think of or talk about. Without a passport I had to stay in U.S. waters. But did go to Lime Island etc. Very pretty and first time on the lake. This coming Sept. I will be meeting a group in the Canadian and pretty part of the North Channel with sailboat for a few weeks.
I do have a friend in the Cedarville Area that I boat with.
Its a fantastic area up there.
By the way I have been to Trevor City before with my sailboat. Although the line to launch was so long I didnt sail there.
It was back in 2001 and many ramps were closed due to low water? I have friends that summer there. What a great town and area.
