Has anyone taken a Ranger across to Europe? We're looking for something that could make the hop across from Nova Scotia- Greenland-Iceland-UK and able to navigate the canal system of the EU. Thanks for any input.

Oh, I thought you meant on a trailer... What would you do for fuel? It looks to me like there are 3 - 1000K stretches of open water there. I've calculated that even under the most ideal conditions my maximum cruising range would be about half that. It wouldn't be a good place to run out of gas. And this whole area of the North Atlantic is well known for it's snarky weather. Frankly, as much as I like my R25, I couldn't even imagine taking it out into the open ocean in those conditions. These are not boats that are really designed for dealing with large, breaking swells.

For the European canals, on the other hand, the Ranger seems like an ideal choice. Have you considered a transport?

Or you could do it like this...

The barge would have fuel in it...

Let us know how it works out.

I didn't know the range of the R29, I have considered shipping 🙂. Thanks for the input.

R29 has 120 gallons of fuel with a 30 gallon reserve. It also has a 260hp engine and your range would be about the same as an R25 or R27. Feel free to contact us anytime and we would be happy to talk to you direct as we do have some tugs leaving to other countries at the moment. Thanks for looking.
