Oil Bypass Filter

Is the oil bypass filter physically any different from the regular oil filter? Just curious since they look identical apart from the name stamped on them. I got thinking about it doing my oil change this weekend and figured I would ask. Always love to learn!

Hello,

The Volvo D4 oil filters are in fact a little physically different. The bypass filter actually has a smaller opening where it threads on, making it impossible to install the filters incorrectly. Please feel free to give me a call in the office anytime with any other questions (253)839-5213.

Do the Ranger tugs come with bypass oil filters standard?

The Volvo D4 has a bypass filter next to the regular oil filter, both on the port side of the engine.
