oil change interval for volvo penta d4 300hp engine

is anyone aware of the recommended frequency for changing the oil, and the oil and fuel filters on the volvo penta d4 engines? Thanks!
 
My manual says 200 hours or 12 months. I don't let it go that long though.

On a related note, I am completing my first oil change and, according to the Volvo Penta Service and Maintenance Manual, oil is removed via the oil drain tube on the starboard side of the engine. When I stuck the tube of my manual vacuum pump, no oil! After several attempts, I switched to the dipstick tube and the oil started flowing.

Does anyone know why I could not use the oil drain tube?
 
The official oil/filter change for a new engine is 200 hrs. The 300HP D4's oil drain tube is the preferred means for removing the oil. It has a larger diameter then the oil dip stick tube and therefore the oil can be removed quicker. If 'no oil' results from using the oil drain tube there's something really wrong with whatever method you're using for doing this. Are you sure you stuck your oil removing tube into the right tube ? :lol:
