We have an Onan 5kw Generator on our 2014 R31CB. I do all the routine maintenance and winterizing myself. I recently had the occasion to change the gen impeller and realized that I have yet to change an air or breather filter on it. I change these on the engine regularly but only change the oil, oil filter and fuel filter on the generator. I looked in the manual and I cannot find anything on this. What am I missing here? Doesn’t the air this thing breathes get filtered? I’m surprised it took me this long to question myself. I took copious notes when the service tech did the first complete change and this item was not noted. I am all about diligent preventative maintenance, as I feel it adds years to the equipments life expectancy and worry free operation.
