Well, we've gone and done it. After lurking here in possession of a sailboat, we've made the conversion tug power as of today!

We ordered a Ranger 29, to be delivered to Kent Island MD in March. We're very grateful for all the advice, support, guidance and information offered by you experienced TugNuts. We're thrilled to be a part of the family.

Her name is NUDGE. Why? When Fred was master of his (well, the Coast Guard's actually) 205 foot ocean-going salvage tug, he fondly remembers nudging drug-laden freighters along his, not their, intended paths. Cathy swears that if he nudges something with this brand new boat, there will be trouble.

We're moving our cruising ground from Biscayne Bay to the Chesapeake which is a brand new adventure for us. We'll be at Shady Oaks Marina on the West River, right beside Ken and Sandi's R 29 SHARED DREAM II. It's a little fleet in the making.

We will share out tug with our two young 80 lb Labs named Valentine (black) and Chelsea Seadog (yellow). The challenge will be getting Valentine on the boat and keeping Chelsea from jumping off.

Looking forward to being underway, making way as a member of the Ranger Fleet.

You will love her. The adventure awaits. Say Hi to our special friends Ken and Sandi aboard the Shared Dream II, we miss them here in the PNW and hope to see them soon.

Conratulations gang! We're so happy for you. The R29 is a lovely craft. You also have an awesome playground for Nudge being in the Chesapeake, and a Tugnut buddy there at the marina to boot! The memories begin. Send lots of pics.

Congratulations. Nudge away!

Congrats on Nudge. You all are going to have so many great adventures on the Chesapeake. Just remember to keep the first weekend of June open for our Chesapeake Bay Rendezvous. 😀

Congratulations! There will be four Ranger Tugs within a half mile radius on Maryland's West River! That has to be a "world record!"
We'll look forward to meeting you..

Welcome to the community, both Ranger and the Shady Oaks Marina! We are looking forward to your continued sea adventures on the Chesapeake or where ever they may take you.

Now that's funny...all three other Ranger Tugs in the same area replied to Cathy and Fred...either we are that excited to have Nudge close by, or we really don't want to do any work this morning...things that make you go, hmmm...LOL

Yes indeed, we will be quite the little fleet all together!

Cathy & Fred: Welcome and CONGRATULATIONS on you having decided on the R-29. Excellent choice... have fun on the East coast. Say Hi to Sandi & Ken for me and as Bob posted... hope to see them back in the PNW sometime. 🙂
