Small but irritating problem: exactly what size and type of allen wrench is used to take out those three odd screws in the side-thruster remote controller? It's a Steipner Motor product, part #8981, used for my 2017 RT 29CB. I've tried dozens of small wrenches - none works and I'm afraid of stripping the screws. Need to change the battery!

TIA,

Dave Monfried

Hi Dave!

Just so happens that I have two of these laying on my desk and both use a #1 Philips screwdriver. They do look a little odd, as if they should be a hex head, but they are simple Philips screws, size #1. Hope this helps.

Thanks!

Excellent - many thanks, Ralf!

Dave

Haven't tried using a Phillips screwdriver, but the three screws that attach the back of the remote to the unit are torx -- the small screws often used on other electronic devices. The bit that fits is a T 7. The remote takes two 2032 batteries. The Side-Power remote manufacturer, Sleipner Motor of Norway, recommends replacing the batteries annually.
