Outboard Dinghy Lift

Hello,

I am sorry to say that this is only offered for the current version of the Ranger 27 outboard. Looks like it is time to upgrade! 😀

Thank you,

SgtAlf, looks like a pretty simple system some one could make during the winter! I would make a sample out of PVC to get it just right then make with aluminum pipe. Looks like only two pivot points and hand winch that fits in rod holder. Anyway good luck, I can always find a good reason to buy a different and bigger boat but mine is paid for and hard to justify a different boat at this time. Bob

Bob,
I’m not sure the structure of the swim platform on the R-23s,R-25OB and those R-27OB not ordered with the dinghy lift are strong enough to support that much extra weight. That’s why you can’t retrofit a R-27OB that didn’t come with a lift to add the lift later on. The factory is beefing up the swim platform support structure on the R-27OBs for those that want the dinghy lift.

Factory folks please correct me if I’ve got this wrong.

So the question is: a. How much does the dinghy weigh? And b. How much is the load capacity of your swim platform? The weigh points are fwd on the swim platform so easier to distribute weight to boat!
Where there is a will there is a way! I don't know as the only DINGY I have sleeps with me! Bob

My Takacat dinghy weighs 67 lbs, I weigh 200 lbs and stand on my swim step without it falling off the boat...
