Well as of today I am a real Tugnut. My Ranger 31 Sedan was delivered to the Royal St. Lawrence Yacht Club in Montreal. I am thrilled with it! But this isn't about the boat - called Elan by the way, but rather about the commissioning.

Ryan Storvold of Lefroy Harbor Yachts - the nearest dealer although 400 miles way, showed up with his crew, Mark and Bun (hope I got his name spelled right but probably not). They did an outstanding job of unpacking, polishing, launching, sea trials and system checks.

Being a newbie to Rangers, but not boats, I am a long time sailor, Mark took me through all the mechanical and electrical systems and helped me learn to handle Elan during the sea trial.

My last fancy boat was a Jeanneau 45.2 sailboat. The commissioning experience was night and day. Ryan and his crew were totally detail minded and spared nothing in making sure Elan was perfect. They provided a safety kit with everything required except life vests. Heck even a Canada wide chart for the Garmin. Fenders and dock lines too - and these were not marginal fenders, nice big fat ones. Yes. I was and am blown away by the service. They filled the tanks, flushed the water system and had the local Volvo Marine guru check the engine and set up the warranty.

This over and above polishing the boat and at the end of the day, washing it - whether it needed it or not. Wow. Just Wow. Oh, and the finishing touch was a very fine bottle of bubbly in a wooden presentation box to christen my boat.

I cannot say enough about these guys - this is not my first boat, more like my 8th and nothing before could compare.

Hats off to Lefroy Harbor Yachts!

About the boat - I was pleased that at cruising speed the engine noise is negligible, That's a big plus on a boat this size. Fit and finish is very good and the quality is evident. But you folks know all that so I'll end it here 😀
Besides I have about 10 pounds of manuals to read.

Best,

Bob
