Pacific Rim National Park Reserve

A question for Washington state boaters. Has anyone cruised out through the west end of the Straight of Juan de Fuca and north to Pacific Rim National Park Reserve or Ucluelet?
Was it a worthwhile trip? How'd your Ranger handle the open ocean leg of the trip?

I’d also love to hear about the logistics of this trip, including clearing customs, different times of year, fuel, etc. Pros and cons of making the run from Neah Bay or shoot across to Victoria and then up the west coast of the Island.
