Penta Fuel Pump on C24

Hello Everyone,

We have a noticeable whine coming from the engine, which the dealer attributes to the fuel pump. It started after just a few hours of operating our new C24. Other symptoms include the engine surging slightly at low speeds and also a strong gas smell, probably coming from the exhaust after the engine is stopped. The boat is also slightly hard starting for a new engine.

The dealer is taking care of the issue under warranty, but was just wondering if anyone else has experienced the same issue and if so, what was the final resolution?

Hello Sean,

I think it's important to list the engine you have installed as there were three versions offered on this model. I have not seen or heard of any common issues but confident if it's a Yamaha or Volvo that they will stand behind any issues. I gave you my email on the last post and wouldn't hurt for you to send me the detailed information on who you purchased the boat from and who is diagnosing the issue.
