It's time to announce that Carol and Ted have pulled the last trigger and are now the proud owners of our new R-27 Gipetto

Many of you who were at the rendezvous will remember that we were negotiating for the factory 27 that was there that weekend, but finally it seems that it's happened! Our plan now is to come out in November to take delivery and to cruise with Andrew and Captain Mac on 16, 17, and 18 November and to cruise on our own on the 19th and 20th. I don't know if that gives us time to cruise to Anacortes and back, as originally planned, but we're hoping that some of our west coast friends will be able to join us - (Bob, we'll bring the Margarita fixins).

We've also been inspired by Jim and Lisa Favors (Kismet) and decided to buy a trailer and we're picking up our new truck tomorrow. We're planning to trailer to Fort Myers Beach, Florida for February (January is work month, oh except for sailing in Barbados) and then Savannah, GA for March and April before heading back to Maine in May - no more 6 month boating seasons for us! Who knows we may make it with Gipetto for PNW rendezvous 2012.

Obviously, we're excited and will keep you posted.

Carol and Ted

Congratulations. I hope you will be sailing to next year's rendesvous with the new boat. Peggy and I look forward to seeing you both there.

Carol and Ted,
I am telling you, coming to these rendezvous can be very expensive! We bought Karma at the 2010 rendezvous along with a number of other folks.

Congratulations on your new Tug! Hope you make it to the Rendezvous in 2012!

Carol and Ted,

Congratulations! Debbie and I look forward to seeing you next year somewhere in New England. Have a great winter with Gipetto!

Carol and Ted,
Congratulations, great decision. Nita and I will be around then so we will see if we can hook up somewhere weather permitting, if not it will be a landlocked get together. I have all the fixings, just bring yourselves. Give us a call at (360) 293-0003.

Carol & Ted:

Congratulations on your new R27 and truck....what truck did you go with? We will also be in Florida in January thru March so let's make sure We get together to share stories and see your new boat.

Congratulations to you two! SO exciting the adventures you'll have . . .

Let us know if you'll be in the Everett area, as we'd love to see the new "baby". We might also be able to go north to Anacortes if weather is permitting. November in the PNW can be VERY changeable and you have to just go with it. Sometimes lovely and sometimes pretty stormy!

Looking forward to hearing about all the places this new boat of yours will be going.

Laurie

I look forward to seeing you in November! Congrats on your new boat!

Thank you all for your good wishes! We are very excited and hope all our plans come to fruition. We are on track for our trip to Puget Sound for the shakedown cruise, but are still a little timid about what to expect, but we hope, ready for whatever. We picked up our new truck, the BRT (big red truck) on Wednesday. Its a Dodge RAM diesel with plenty, we hope, towing power and we are trying to get used to it. I haven't even driven it yet, but it's on my list to learn how to back it up, with the trailer, and be totally good to go!!! It may take a while, but I am ready.
We have yet to pack our box for delivery to Seattle with whatever we will need for the 5 days. We are hopeful that we will be living on board, conditions permitting. We have to ship our "stuff" so any help with priorities would be welcome.
We are hopeful that we will be able to see some of our new tugnut friends during our brief stay in Puget Sound. We will keep you posted.

Good for you guys. Where will you be based for your training and shakedown?

Cheers,

Bruce

Ted:

Provide us with some specific dates/times/places where you will be at, especially if things change due to weather. We are moored at the Edmonds Marina and could join you if our schedule allows. The big factor of course is the weather conditions during November.

Where will you be cruising about with Andrew and Capt. Mac ? In the Puget Sound or in and around Lake Washington ?

Post back here with your details.

Oh, and congratulations on that fine looking R-27. 🙂 ...I'm also tempted, but love our R-25. 😉

Hi all,

Plans are pretty firm. We'll be with Andrew on Wed the 15th and with Captain Mac on Thurs and Fri. We're planning on staying aboard and will be based in Des Moines. - (Hear that Wolf Pack?)

I just found out we have to fly out again on Sunday so we only have Friday night and Saturday on our own and will probably have to stay in a motel Saturday night. Hopefully we can a get a group together for a short cruise, or even an afternoon "social" At the very least we can have a group go out to dinner.

For Jim and Lisa, we bought a 2011 Dodge Ram 2500 with the Cummins Diesel. It might be overkill but if we're going to be hauling the boat all over the country I wanted the extra power. Also, we've rented a slip at Moss Marine in Fort Myers Beach for 2/6/2012 to at least 3/6/2012 and then are planning to move to Savannah until warm weather up here. We'd love to get together with Tugnutters in either or both places.

Ted and Carol
