Pooph for head hoses

When we bought our boat after COVID, the previous owner did not pump out the holding tank, and the broker pulled the boat out and put it on legs on the dry ... it was subsequently pumped out somewhere along the line, but the smell was still pretty ominous .... "You can tell by the smell that all's not well!" I put different tank solutions down the head and down the pumpout hose, not to much avail. One night watching the idiot box, I saw a commercial for Pooph / it stuck in my brain. Next time I went to Walmart, I picked up 2 bottles and poured one down head, and the other down the waste pumpout hose. By the next day, the smell was almost totally GONE. The Pooph costs $14-18 depending on where you get it, but for us, it worked and worked well.
If you have "one of those", you might try it. May not work for everyone but it sure worked for us!

Spring boat spiffing ... I had put a bottle of Pooph down head and one down the waste pumpline and it worked - no smell. Most of the time when you smell all is not well, the hoses are the culprit and Pooph did amazing job over winter! May not always work, but sure worked for me!
