The Port Nut is cruising the Gulf Islands from July 6-13. Any other TugNuts in the area, please keep an eye out for the red R21 and certainly come say hello. It looks at this time like our other cruise of the summer will be Aug 6-20 in the Broughton Archipelago. The plan is to trailer to Port McNeil & then leisurely cruise throughout the area. Best wishes to all you others for a pleasant summer.

The Broughtons. Wow, what a dream.

The Laurie Ann is planning a similar trip to the Broughton's from July 11 - 30 and also plan to haul the boat up to Port McNeil. Since this is our first trip that far north, do you have any "must see's"? We've heard the port boat ramp is the best place to launch but thoughts on where to leave the truck and trailer?

Patrick & Gail: Rosa and I will most assuredly stop in at Ganges. If not just to see you, then we will likely be out of Bailey's by then. We just ask anyone where to find you, right?

John & Laurie: Not having been there before, I have very little in the way of destinations. I understand that it is a good idea to stop in at Alert Bay to gain permission to land at abandoned village sites (eg, Mamalalicula). Since these are the ones with the beautiful midden beaches, I plan to do so. Of course, Echo Bay is a boating Mecca and I spoke with the people from there at the Vancouver Boat Show. They assure me that they have everything, including 4 scheduled flights a day (in case there is trouble back home). They also told me that The Port in McNeill Plus (Steve Jackson) takes good care of a trailer-boater's needs. Aside from these tidbits, I plan to re-read my material on the Broughtons in the next while.

Sorry we missed you, we were in the Gulf Islands last week (July 4-8) for our first shake down cruise on Sand Dollar.

We did see several RT's in and around Ganges and the area, and said hi to Patrick I believe, on the dock , but couldn't turn back to have a longer chat as we were avoiding the sailing class out front. We also saw Nest Egg and said hi to the owners in Montague Harbour where we had our first night at anchor. We didn't see any red tugs though so sorry we missed you. We look forward to meeting up with other RT owners in our journeys and having a visit.

Have a wonderful trip.

Cheers

We have returned home and on reviewing our photos noticed that there was one sunny day in there. Most of the week was cloudy, one gale and rain on this last day. Where has summer gone?
