Port Rear Window Frame Spreading

I own a 2019 Cutwater 242 and the back window frame (port side -- the one that flips up) has broken welds and the frame is spreading at the hinges. Has anyone fixed this problem? Cutwater advised me to remove the glass and have the frame re-welded. I'd like to hear if anyone else has tried this and what advice you have. I asked about replacing the window but the ones on the new Cutwaters no longer fit my boat. Thanks.
