Any suggestions for pricing our R 25 SC 2014 for sale. NW package and pretty much all options except auto pilot and generator. Trailer. Excellent condition Freshwater D3 Volvo Diesel with 150 hrs
Any specific idea on pricing or sources??
Of course, your selling price would depend on you wanting a 'quick' sale or one that you're willing to wait for your higher price.
I think a new boat would depreciate at around 20% in the first year and then start to level off.
Thus, assuming you paid some $150,000 (Includes trailer) plus a Sales Tax of some $15,000 then the $165,000 would depreciate to around $133,000.
It's now 2017 and going on 2018 so your boat is some 3 yrs old. So making the depreciation at say 30% and you have around $116,000 as a market value.
For example, I had a 2010 R-25 (Classic) with all the options (but not a trailer) and it had some 300 engine hrs on its Yanmar 4BY2-150 engine. The boat was in pristine condition, well maintained, included a Portland Pudgy dinghy, Torqeedo electric motor, been in covered slip all its life in salt water and I sold it in Aug 2015 to a private party for $98,000 cash. Thus in 6 yrs the boat market value reduced by some $50,000.
In 2009 I was looking at a used 2009 R-25 (but practically new) with trailer, Cummins engine, all options with an asking price of $125,000 for a quick sale. This used R-25 likely cost the owner same $155,000 including taxes.
Another example is I sold my 2016 R-21EC recently after owning it for 20 months and its selling price was 25% less than what I paid for it new.
Good luck.
