I tried to respond to a private message, but my reply is sitting in the outbox. I then tried to message the Admin for help, and that message is sitting in the outbox, also. Why are my messages not being sent?

I think the message appears in your out box until the person you sent the message to looks at it. That’s been my experience.

Yes, msg in outbox unit recipient reads the msg.

Unlike email, which is "pushed" out to the recipient via an active inbox, private messages have to be "pulled" by the participant from a passive inbox. As folks above have explained, once the recipient opens the PM in their inbox it will disappear from your outbox.
If you're trying to reach a member who started or is participating in a forum thread, you can reply to the thread and let the member know you sent a PM.
