Propane Soleniod Power

Hi all. This is my situation with my 2016 25sc.

1) I had propane cooktop actively proceeding to bring water to boiling point.
2) Flame went out.
3) LED situation on the solenoid control panel by cooktop: Power off, propane off and alarms off.
4) I first looked at the solenoid. Extremely corroded. I figured regardless of the actual issue i would replace it.
5) I am sorry i don't know the correct terminology here. But on the fuse panel near where the large fuses are for the thrusters, there is a 3A fuse which i am guessing is for the circuit of interest. That fuse was blown.
6) I bought a new solenoid and fuse and installed them. Still the power LED was off.
7) I again cut the wires to the solenoid and using a multimeter I see that I don't have 12V between those wires. Essentially 0V there.
Stuck on what the next step is.
Any help or request for clarification appreciated!

I had a similar problem. No gas flow. Determined the solenoid was functional and there was power to the fume detector control pad but the control unit itself was simply unresponsive. So I replaced the fume detector, which solved the problem. That was two years ago and it has been working fine ever since. Here is the Xintex unit that was installed in our boat (2018 R-31). Yours may be the same.

And BTW, I would like to carry a spare solenoid because ours also has corrosion. Would appreciate a link or description of where you found your replacement. The lettering seems to be obscured on ours. Thanks!

As an aside. I bought an adapter that allows you to connect one of those small grill tank propane bottles to the propane line. It works great in a pinch if you were to run out of propane. A fellow tugger abandoned his corroded tank and uses the small bottles all the time. He says that he gets five hours of use out of a bottle. That is without using the oven, which works great for storage. 😀

Thanks John - will consider fume detector now as well. But keeping in mind that the 3A fuse was blown...there might be more to it. Not sure.

Hi chapman,

As John mentioned, the fume detectors have a limited life span and need to be occasionally replaced. Not sure about why the fuse blew without being able to diagnose. Hopefully the detector solves the issue.

Our stove does not get very hot. Maybe 275°. My solenoid is very corroded. Is it possible that someone like that is not in proper shape could cause a reduction in propane flow?
Does anyone have a part number for the solenoid?

I have 2011 R-27, last Fall I had issue with propane sensor alarm going off repeatedly and unnecessarily. I discovered the propane sensor on my tug, Xintex S-1A, is no longer made. I had tech come out to trouble shoot and it turns out the problem was a corroded wire and connection. Problem solved at minimal expense, no problems with propane sensor since...
