Need your help.

I have a 2012 R29 Classic. My diver told me the zinc that fits at the end of the prop shaft was missing. Vessel has the Yanmar engine configuration.

Can you help me identify the proper size, specifications etc?

Thanks in advance for your assistance.

Hi John

Unfortunately I do not have records that go back that far and unfortunately cannot tell you the specs on that zinc. However I do think there are still a few members here with the same 29 who should be able to tell you what size zinc they have. The prop zinc we used for the 2014 Volvo engine 29 Classics was for a 1.5 inch shaft. Stands to reason that yours could be the same size, but we'd have to wait for someone else to chime in who could confirm. Hope this helps.

Cheers,

Ralf

John,

The shaft on our 2012 R29 is 1 1/2”. Boatzincs.com supplied us with both an aluminum as well as a zinc anode.

They’re listed as the “F” model on their website. We’ve also purchased them at West Marine.

Here’s the link at boatzincs: http://www.boatzincs.com/prop_nuts-aluminum.html.

Also, here’s the part number from RT: Prop Zinc CMPNZF.

Installation wise…. Make sure you use some type of loctite, as these are known to “spin off”. I can’t remember who we bought from before that also supplied the allen retaining screw. It came with loctite already on it.

Hope this helps.

Tom, thanks for the reply.

Did not want to haul the boat to figure out what size zinc I needed.
