Most of our family have trailers or fifth wheels, my wife and I are boaters. Just wondering if anyone knows of a place to visit that has access by both boat and vehicle? I realize there are a few out in the San Juan Islands but my wife’s family think the cost for ferry with a large fifth wheel is not worth it. Currently if we go camping with family they live in their vehicles while we sleep in a tent or they go out with us and they sleep in a tent.
 
If your boat is on a trailer, just bring it along and use it as a camper or 5th wheel. Done that with my boat a number of times. It's called "boaterhoming".
 
Not sure if this is what you're looking for, but Cap Sante marina in Anacortes has RV sites right at the docks. Anacortes is a cool little town, and from the dock the islands are all within a day cruise by boat.
 
Deception Pass State Park has several camp areas as well as overnight boat moorage at Cornet Bay. It is a short drive between the two but might work.

I looked into this and the RV sites are about 1 mile walk to the boat dock. As a family we like to sit by a campfire at night to visit.

I think I know what your are talking about and will check it out. If I am not mistaken it is an open dirt field.
 
LA Conner has a campground just across the street from the marina. Both are operated by the Port of Skagit County.
I have never stayed at the RV Resort, but it looks clean and reasonable.

Probably a 4~5 minute walk to the guest dock. It is an easy 5-10 minute walk into the cute, fun town of La Conner from here, too.

Point Roberts might work. There is a short walk from the marina to the campground but a very unique and picturesque place. The others places I know about all involve ferry costs.
 
Fort Worden and Fort Flagler, near Port Townsend, both have RV sites and boat moorage. Fort Worden only has mooring buoys and you have to beach your dinghy to get ashore. It's also exposed to wakes from passing ships. Fort Flagler has 256 feet if dock space and seven mooring buoys. It is very well protected from most weather. Both parks have walking trails, walks through the historic gun emplacements, and other activities.
 
Penrose state park works. we did exactly this this last summer. we tied up to a ball. dinghied into the dock - bit shallow for the cutwater at the dock and spent time with friends at their RV campsite.

the RV park is a bit dark and it was nice to get back to the boat
 
Point Hudson Marina and RV Park in Port Townsend seems like it may meet your needs. The RV Park and Marina right next to each other.

This looks like a nice place, we live in Bellingham and I haven’t done any boating in Puget Sound below Elliott Bay.

We did this one a lot of years ago and loved Port Townsend. If I remember right the RV park is a large lot that might work but not a park setting.

Unless they have updated since we were there last, the RV parking at Cap Sante Marina in Anacortes is dry camping: no water, electricity, or sewer. If you are considering that location, be sure your family with RVs are aware of that.
 
Jarrell Cove State Park on the north end of Harstine Island is a great spot for both campers and boats. There is power on the dock, and restrooms in the park have showers. There are grassy fields for kids to play and trails to walk and friendly deer. And, we agree that Penrose Point is also wonderful, with trails and beaches to explore. You might check to see if other state parks might meet your needs as well. We love it when we can connect and share experiences with family while on our boat. That means finding a place for them to spend the night as we can’t fit everyone aboard. Good luck!
