Purpose of red light on right side of the dash on 2014 R31

What is the indication of a red light on the upper right hand side of the dash on my 2014 R31?
 
I would guess it is a warning that your cockpit seats are not secured.
 
Correct. It will shut off if you shut down the ignition - so you won't have to stare at it the whole time you are anchored.
 
Does the red light really have something to do with the side seats not stowed properly? I am a new owner and wonder about that light as well.
 
Red light is indicating that one or both of the cockpit seats is not fully closed.
