I've apparently put this in the wrong category: here 'goes again...
I've noticed that the compass on the R-21 should actually be raised off the counter top to be more accurate. Buried down where it is behind the wheel there is quite a bit of magnetic interference (deviation) - more than can be compensated for with the 2 screws in the Ritchie compass. I'm considering re-mounting the compass on an ABS plastic pipe union which seems to work as far as height, diameter and availability. I wondered if anyone else had played with the location of the compass on a R-21. (Yes I know I'm old and out-of-date still talking about this vintage vessel, but I love it and it continues to serve me well.) Regards
Denis
